Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can my machine run Desktop Dungeons: Extreme Edition?
A: Probably! If you can run the original Desktop Dungeons, you can run Desktop Dungeons: Extreme Edition. However, as the original is a 32-bit application, some Macs may need work-arounds to run it.
Q: I've only played Desktop Dungeons: Rewind. Can I play this?
A: Yes! As long as you procure a copy of the original Desktop Dungeons, you can transfer your save from Rewind to the original, and install the Extreme Edition on top of that transferred save. However, as always, we advise doing this on a *duplicate* of your save. We wouldn't want you to accidentally ruin your primary save!
Q: Speaking of saves, can I transfer my progress back from the Extreme Edition?
A: Unfortunately, as we add numerous classes, badges, and dungeons, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to move progress back from the expansion to the original or Rewind. It's best to think of this as its own dedicated copy!
Q: Help, when I installed it crashed, didn't load, or brought up a blank screen! What do I do?
A: First, try reinstalling the Extreme Edition over a fresh copy of the original game. If you need further personal tech support, join the Discord or contact The Avatar (via the Contact page). We'd be happy to help decipher your issue in either case!
Q: Where can I report a bug?
A: Again, via the Discord! You can also help out with development in other ways there, if you'd like, or just ask for tips and chat about your experience.
Q: How do Daily Runs work with Desktop Dungeons: Extreme Edition?
A: Unfortunately, the Extreme Edition is not currently compatible with daily runs. As such, we recommend duplicating your game so that you can run the daily runs on your standard copy, and the expansion on your expansion copy.
